I have a 1927 LC Smith 12 gauge specialty hunter one trigger shotgun and i am looking for some information on what i should do to it for resale. It has a chip on the front of the for-end and one barrel is slightly pitted. I have sent in for a research letter but am looking for any help on what i should do for the resale or for the collectible value on a shot gun like this.
Just my opinion Tyler. The market for less than pristine vintage doubles is diminishing. The cost of the repairs are unlikely to be recovered in the selling price. Whomever buys your gun will want any repairs done by an expert and to their satisfaction, and they might also choose to refinish the stock. And any inexpert or inappropriate "clean up" may significantly diminish the value of the gun. If you have joined the LCSCA you may offer the gun for sale in the Members Only Forum https://lcsca.clubexpress.com/content.aspx?page_id=2153&club_id=43784
