I have a 12 gauge quality 2 (I think 1886) that has rough barrels. Normal pre 13 barrels don t fit as the barrel lug of the quality 2 is rectangular and the regular frame pre 13's has the rounded lug that fits into the receiver. We're any of the Syracuse era guns steel barreled as I really would like to fit either a better set of damascus or preferably a set of steel???? Any thoughts on where to find. Thanks Zachary

Zachary, of all the Syracuse shotguns I have information on, none had steel barrels. The Syracuse L.C. Smiths were made with 3 different weights, medium, heavy and extra heavy. Most of this was in the barrels and so the breech end of the receiver was made larger also. The most common was the medium weight and finding barrels to fit these Syracuse guns might be different than those of the Hunter Arms L.C. Smiths that were made with only one frame.
