The original damascus barrels were replaced with Armor (originally Armour) steel barrels, which were introduced with the 00 in 1898.
Hunter Arms would mark the same SN on the new barrels.
Look about 2/3 down under "History" in the FAQs; "How were additional or replacement barrels fit and finished at a later date by the Hunter Arms factory marked?"
