Mike, in a 1946 Repair Price List you could send the gun to the now L.C. Smith Gun Co. and have them Hunterize the Locks and Frame (all black) for $10.00. In a similar 1948 Repair and Price List Effective September 15, 1948 you could have the Locks and Frame Blued for $12.50 I have seen a few L.C. Smith's that were blued, whether by the factory or someone else I do not know, but one can never say never to what Hunter Arms or later the L.C. Smith Gun Co. (a subsidiary of Marlin Firearms Co.) would do for a client.
