    "Minnesota Sporting" Powder Archived Message

    This powder can was recently sold on e-bay;
    "Minnesota Sporting"



    with the Hunter Arms illustration of the A2; this from 1893



    Found this in "Hardware" Magazine, 1894

    I've not been able to confirm with any period catalogs or ads, but suspect "Minnesota Sporting" was a tradename powder for Janney, Semple, Hill & Co., Minneapolis or Farwell, Ozmun & Kirk, St. Paul; both Hunter Arms distributors. Farwell, Ozmun & Kirk did offer a tradename
    "Minnesota Arms Co." gun, but I don't know the maker or time period.

    Anyone here get this neat can?
