    Thank you for adding to my Smith knowledge! I agree with you on finding a shotgun in good condition and at a fair price that appeals to you is for me; one of the most important components of being happy with your purchase. I purchased a 1928 Francotte 25E at an auction and the auctioneer told that I made a good investment! The auctioneer was Russian and he said in his broken english; "Mike, there are three things you need to know when purchasing something at an auction:
    1. Is it original
    2. What is it worth
    3. What can I buy it for....
    If you know those three things you will always be happy with the money you spent".

    I don't know if that is all you need to know, but it has worked so far.

    Thanks again for taking the time to educate me on the Smith history.
