Technical Question on a project gun Archived Message

I just bought a LC Smith Crown 12 ga.receiver, side plates and trigger assembly (HOT). According to Jim, Serial Number 107752 was recorded as a 12 gauge Crown Grade with 30-inch barrels. It was built on a regular-weight frame with automatic ejectors and a selective Hunter One-Trigger that was manufactured in 1928.

When I mock the receiver up the sears bind on the HOT mechanism. David gave me some great info concerning the three screws but in this case I not sure I have the right sears.

Summary: The sears foot (trigger side) size (.547) seem be correct for Regular frame but binds when using Hunter-One Trigger (HOT). I tried using a FW sears, which measure .521, and they also bind.

Question: What is the size of the sear foot on a HOT equipped gun?

    Background:
    1) The Left sear foot touches the actual mechanism and does not clear the selective lever therefore trigger would fire the left barrel even if the selector is set to fire the right barrel first.

    2) The right sear foot binds the actual mechanism before the side plate is fully drawn in.
