Well, for whatever my two cents are worth, the beavertail is not original and was likely added whenever the gun was refinished/restored. And although Hunter's repair shop did fit the occasional beavertail to a pre-1913 gun, the shape of this beavertail is not consistent with any of those offered by Hunter; and the checkering pattern is nothing like the style offered for a Grade 3 gun. As to the gold plated trigger, I've never seen an original Grade 3 with a gold plated trigger; but what I have always seen are gold inlays in the letters "R" and "L", which inlays are missing from the trigger plate of this example. My speculation is that the selector inlays disappeared during the re-hardening process; and that the trigger was after-market gold plated prior to reassembly of the gun. Like I've noted, just my 2 cents worth.
