Some do look like Springers, but the Hunter family themselves were setter people. The tradition was when a Hunter male child was born, he was presented a setter. The last setter given to a Hunter son was James C. Hunter, great, great grandson to James C. Hunter. Jim attends our Hunter Homecomings in Fulton, N.Y. every year with his family and I asked him at the last homecoming in August if he thinks it will carry on with his sons. He said "it could happen".
