Well I went and purchased a needle nose vise grips, removed the spring from the lock plate, and installed it in the broken plate. It seems to work fine with snap caps. I,ll go to the range on Wednesday and give it the go over. The locks are such a simple but functional design, not at all as complicated as some English sidelocks. I suppose the engineering and design took into consideration that most shooters could with a few tools make their own repairs. I was also told that the right lock, barrel, et al., are fired more than the left, hence they tend to experience more use and repair. Given that this LC is a hundred years old, one broke spring in a century attests to the quality and workmanship that went into these way back when. See you all at Hausmann's. Thanks again.
