My first Elsie-rookie question Archived Message

Hello everyone, very informative site. I just bought a 1913 20 gauge field and have a couple of rookie questions I was hoping you could help with.

1-firing pin-when I examined the gun post purchase I noticed the firing pin on the right barrel moves proud of the face when the receiver it tilted. Does this mean the pin is broken or is there likely another cause?

2-Old wood-read in the FAQs about the relative fragility of the lc stock and the potential need to glass bed. Is the collective thinking this necessary for any amount of shooting? I will primarily use this gun on grouse.
