I inherited a 12 ga. LC Smith made in 1940. My father told me that around that time they did some tweeking of the stock and the ones made about that time didn't crack as bad.
I've used a 16ga High Rib Hunter arms to dove hunt with and knocked down lots of doves over the years with some pretty heavy loads. Never had any stock issues. What did they do exactly to make the stock tougher,and will this 12 be good to go with 1oz moderate loads?
