    Dan, I do have both of those serial numbers recorded. It is people like you that have helped in this research.
    Of the over 500 hammer gun serial numbers that I have recorded for Fulton which includes some early Transition hammer guns, many of the early recorded numbers were just information on the guns form, whether it had the joint check, type of hammer, type of top tang, etc. and I did not put what gauge. Now when I get the information I put the gauge in.
    I also have quite a few Syracuse hammer and hammerless serial numbers. Some are interesting and off the top of my head, one having Birmingham proof marks, another with a set of barrels made in Italy. There are more than one recorded instance where a Syracuse gun was sent to Fulton for a set of barrels. Hunter Arms made them and serial numbered them to the gun.
