    Tom,
I contacted Jim yesterday and he said that he will be looking thru a Miscellaneous Ledger that was used during 1918-1919 when Hunter Arms went bankrupt which confirms your thoughts. He said there were about 10,000 records which he has to go thru line by line and will get back to me in a week or two. Hopefully he will find it and I will then have a letter. Unfortunately this gun was reworked. Barrels blued, frame redone and somewhere during its life the stock was cut so the LOP to the wood is 12 ¾". An abomination of a recoil pad was added with a ½" black spacer followed by a 1" leather pad. I have removed the pad and replaced it with one that though not period correct does present a much better appearance and fits me better. If only they could talk.
    Bob
