1905 LC; Field Grade; 12 gauge...my LC also was very hard to open and the firing pins have worn a dimple in the extractor on both barrels. Bill Schwarz removed the left firing pin and bushing and the firing pin had some 'shattered' areas where the steel had sheared off in bits and pieces. Bill suspected dry firing might have caused this but couldn't tell for sure. The gun is still a bit hard to open so I usually tap the butt plate on the ground after firing one or both barrels and that seems to drop the pins back so the action will open more easily. Not the best of worlds but much better than it used to be. Good luck with yours.
