    Rick, your hammer gun is from 1906. It has a back action lock meaning the mainspring is behind the action (hammer). It should have 3 pins visible on the lock. Two pins which are actually screw posts hold the bridle which encapsulates the mainspring. The bottom pin is really an axle for the sear. It will have the latest style hammer which is the "C" style used from 1899 to the end of production in 1932.

    Good luck with your gun. many of us still shoot this hammer guns once they are found to be safe to shoot. I would have a reputable gunsmith that knows L.C. Smith's look at it to determine it safe to shoot, then go have some fun with it.
