It is well documented that Walter Beaver shot a L C Smith SBT gun; however, he could have shot other guns, Ithacas among them. Beaver died in 1957 so if the serial number of your gun is higher than 404371 he didn't use this gun. As a long shot possibility an acquaintance could of had special engraving performed in remembrance of Beaver.
