You might need to glass bed the fore end iron into the fore end wood......After having these two screws pull out and come loose on more then one old L C Smith SXS more then just once I gave up and glass bedded the screws and iron into the fore end wood......It should never come loose in my lifetime ever again.....I did not use release agent on the metal......I glassed the metal to the wood!!!.....No more coming loose and popping apart.....Jent
