Step One: Get a factory history letter on this shotgun from Doctor Jim. We need to know how long the barrels were when they left the factory. If 30 inches is original then that is a strong reason to keep this shotgun. Step Two: Get a professional to check the barrels. Have Mark Beasland or Dan May or Ken Waite or Gunther P. check the barrels. Find out what the bores and chokes are. The chokes are most likely to tight to be useful if the barrels are original. Step Three: If you were thinking about actually shooting 3 inch magnum 12 gauge shells please do not! Step Four: Have a professional stockmaker glass bed the butt stock to the frame. You might want to glass bed the fore end iron to the fore end wood too. Step Five: Pattern test this shotgun at 16 yards and 20 yards and 30 yards. Make sure that the left and right barrels of this shotgun shoot to the same point of impact at about 20 yards. The barrels on a LONGRANGE might not come together and converge until 25 yards. Do not be to worried about where the barrels hit at this point just be sure that the barrels shoot to the same point of impact. We can bend the butt stock or add a cheek pad to adjust the POI to where you the shooter want it to be hitting. Will you be at ROCK MOUNTAIN SPORTING CLAYS on September 23-24-25 of 2016???....Good Shooting To You, Jent
