Rare Eagle Grade LC Smith 16ga Archived Message

Looking for help to ID my Dad's 16 Gauge LC Smith. My Dad bought a 16ga LC Smith from his Uncle back in the '40s as a kid but when he got older he had to pawn it off at a Little Rock, Arkansas pawn shop in the late '50s. He die a couple of years ago but before he died I got him a copy Brophy's LC Smith book for his birthday. He always talked about that gun when I was growing up. Going over the records in the book he thought the gun might be somewhat rare. It was a 16ga with 26in barrels, double triggers, and auto ejectors. He remembers a bird engraved on top of the frame so we're thinking it was a eagle grade. If I remember, I think he said that it had ducks on one side and a pheasant on the other but I'm not sure. His uncle got it used from North Carolina in the '40s. The forearm may have had the banjo style latch. He always though the gun was made in the '40s but he complained about how bad the gun kicks. I was thinking maybe the gun was older and he was shooting 2 3/4" shells in an older 2 1/2" chamber model which may have caused the excessive kick. I wanted to buy him that configuration LC Smith before he died but I've yet to see one like that for sale. Any help to ID that LC Smith would be appreciated. Thanks
