    Jody, without looking at mine, I believe the first patent date is March 29, 1883,joint and ejector system (joint check)
    second is July 13, 1886 lock mechanism for hammerless guns (an improved method of the way the hammers are cocked)
    third is Oct. 5, 1886, safety catch for gun locks (safety)

    So I believe that all hammerless guns made before Oct. 1886 would have two patent dates, and guns made after Oct 1886 would have the three.

    It would be interesting to know if owners of Syracuse guns, what patent dates do theirs have. The other interesting thing would be, what is the difference in looking at the locks of the ones before Oct. and the ones after.

    These 3 patent dates would be on the early Fulton guns as well.
