2016 L.C. Smith Annual Meeting and Display Archived Message

Posted by Tom Archer on January 29, 2016, 10:58 am

The 2016 Southern Side x Side will be taking place in only a few short weeks from today in Sanford, NC (April 22-24); so I know our members are already making reservations and planning to be there, just as your BOD is already busily planning for our annual meeting, our exhibit, and the Challenge Event itself.

The purpose of this post concerns only the theme of our 2016 Smith guns exhibit; which will be the odd, the unusual, the rare, and even the weird!
We invite and encourage everyone of our members to participate by bringing Smith guns from your collection with seldom seen factory original features such as guns with Monte Carlo combs, cheek piece stocks, skeleton butt plates, heel and toe plates, special order out-of-grade engraving and/or checkering patterns, swamped ribs, guns with features never cataloged for that particular grade/gauge (i.e. 20 gauge Field grade with Damascus barrels), guns with one steel and one Damascus barrel tube, cross-over stocks, Regular framed 20 gauge guns, 8, 14, and 28 gauge guns, repair shop custom guns, presentation guns, try guns, cut-a-way salesman's samples, sales samples with mixed grade features, etc., etc.;etc. Based on my collections experience, there seems to be no end to the variety of special ordered "one-off" Smith guns with unusual features and options; so if you may have the "Only One There IS", then we want to see and share THAT GUN with our members!

John Liles is in charge of our 2016 Annual Meeting booth display; and since we want folks to be surprised and excited about what may be included within that display, please don't post your special Smith gun here. Instead, please email John directly via his email addy @ john@northstarconstructioncorp.com. John will then contact you directly with any questions about your gun as he "cobbles together" our display. Please know that the only way in which the LCSCA can continue to feature such fabulous Smith gun displays year after year is thru the generous support and contributions of our membership; we are gratified for your continued support, and John and I thank each of you in advance for your invaluable cooperation.
    Regards,
    Tom
