    Steve, a heavy trigger pull would be due to the way the sear engages in the tumbler.
    After all these years parts could have been replaced. You would think if everything was original that parts would wear and the trigger pull would be very light.

    Roger Domer had the same problem at the Southern the year before last. I took the gun home on my trigger pull gage it went beyond 12 lbs. I swapped mainsprings, no good, looked at the way the sear entered the tumbler and came to the conclusion that was the only thing that would cause a heavy trigger pull. It was engaging too much. I gently filed the notch in the tumbler and lightly filed the tip of the sear. After a few tries, I got it to 3 1/2 lbs.

    Go slow or else you will wind up with a hair trigger.

    This must be the gun with the serial number in the 86,000 range that I thought none were made in.
    It took 6 years at looking at hundreds and hundreds of hammer gun serial numbers and none in this range. Now I have yours and 2 others of which one is just locks.
