The Later Date In September Will Help Greatly Archived Message

The later dates in September should bring cooler temperatures......It was a little on the warm side at Rock Mountain in early September this year......We had a lot of fun but some of us could not shoot as much as we wanted to because it was just to hot after lunch......I really like shooting at Rock Mountain but Mike set some targets at one station in the woods that were just crazy for the main event on Sunday......Now everybody had to shoot these crazy targets so it was fair but these crazy targets did not represent any wild game bird that a hunter would ever shoot at......The station that I am talking about was in the big trees near the high cliff......This station was surrounded by tall trees with a hole in the canopy of the tree tops that was about 50 feet by 30 feet......The shooter stood on a stand trying to shoot at a following pair or report pair of clay birds that were straight up over the shooters head......It was a poke and bang shot......There was no chance for the shooter to judge the track and speed of the target......One or two shooters managed to hit 5 out of 6 of these "see it poke at it and shoot" targets.....A few shooters hit 4 out of 6 of these targets......Most of the shooters got a 2 or 3 on this station......Me......I got 1 out of 6......I was Mad !!....I was Hot !!!....Now all of the other stations were fun and fair......I would encourage my friend Mike to remember that for our SXS shoots the clay targets should represent an ethical shot at a live game bird or rabbit....We should not be attempting trick shots......Remember please that I luv Mike and I luv Rock Mountain......Mike just needs to change that one station for a true hunting shot.....Good Shooting To You All, Jent
