WOW! Thanks guys. I was expecting a sound scolding for attempting a project like this, and was surprised to get just the opposite. My hobby is woodworking and have completed several rifle and shotgun stocks (box locks). The challenge to attempt a Elsie was just too great a temptation to resist. I have invested in a semi-inletted AA figured walnut stock from Gunville and have inletted the forearm and receiver, thus far. Now trying to get it assembled to rout out the side plate cut-outs. Can't wait to see what that beautiful piece of walnut will look like checkered and finished. Thanks again for your tips and offers to help.
