It is very likely that you have forend No. 1 of a pair, which unfortunately was separated from the matching barrel.
A research letter might document how the guns was originally ordered, but it is also possible that the gun was returned to Hunter Arms for a fluid steel second barrel. Does the SN on the FE match the SN on the action flats?
