I think John has identified the best solution to the challenge events' current scheduling issues. Set up the two five stand fields on Wednesday and start allow qualifying for the finals on both Thursday and Friday. If folks want to change the format of the hammer gun match to mirror the main challenge event, this would allow enough time for qualifying again with the hammer guns on the same course. Give shooters shooting their qualifying round priority over those wanting to shoot for practice. After the last round of qualifying on Friday, reset the course for the finals.

Shoot the team finals for both events consecutively on Saturday morning. This would then allow time for a new 8 and/or 10 ga. match Sunday morning and allow the BP match to move to an earlier hour with more participation.

Saturday afternoon could be used for a new crowd pleasing team event: a manufacturer's team flurry challenge. Use the same five stand trap set up as the challenge finals. No qualifier. Enter 5 person teams using the same maker guns to shoot a 110 bird/6 minute flurry. Each shooter starts with 25 rds. Allow the team captain to select the shooter they want on each stand and what strategy thew want to use. Missed targets can be fired at by other team members (each would have 3 extra shells). No alibis. If a gun fails to function, that shooter is out. The team with the fewest targets to hit the ground intact wins. I would estimate at least 20 teams could complete the event in a span of three hours. We can find out which brand truly deserves the title of "Old Reliable." JMHO
