    Spatial orientation was never my strong suit

    Left hammer (on right looking at the action from the front) is down, with the 'Smith Tool' in place on the left cocking rod (which is UP).
    The arm of the left cocking rod (on the right side of the picture) must be ROTATED DOWN.



    Left hammer now cocked



    Now turn the tool 180 degrees, put the right cocking rod in the hole, use the left rod as a fulcrum and push the right rod DOWN. I'll work on pics
