Dean, your shotgun is from 1900. It is a 3 pin back action lock. You didn't specify what type of barrels it had, but it was offered in Royal Steel $20.00, Best English Stub Twist $23.00, and Good Damascus $25.00.
The date you gave is a patent date.
Value is very hard to determine without having gun in hand. On Internet auction sites, they have been going for $400-$700. It all depends on condition.
