Dave, I admire your thinking. I think we are all caretakers of history, by our dedication to preserve these pieces of american industrial heritage. Nothing says we cannot enjoy them as we do our historical stewardship. The young man will appreciate your thoughtfulness and have a linkage to his ancestry. Should you ever desire, Gunter Pfrommer refinished mine to near perfect condition. If you shoot them, you'll need a good gunsmith occasionally. God bless.
