    Kent, your shotgun was made in 1901. The date you posted is a patent date. If you go to the Home page go down to History, opens to the right and you will see Patents, click on it and follow down the list to that date you posted. If you click on the red patent number it will open showing you that it was for a safety catch.

    The 90000 block of serial numbers is missing and therefore no information about it but most likely purchased at a hardware store.

    The 00 was the lowest grade hammerless gun made and only came with Armor Steel barrels, which were fluid steel barrels and also the cheapest to manufacture. Go here is see pre-1913 grades.

    As to value, and rarity, not much in either case unless it was in like new condition and not refinished. A guess would be in the $400-$800 range and the $800 being in good condition.
