Tom, once thank you for your input and vast knowledge of these vintage SXS guns. I contacted the person who I bought the gun from to see if I could squeeze any more information on the history of this gun. He did mention several times this was his grandfathers gun, I think I had said it was his fathers but it was his grandfathers. His grandfather had quite of a aray of firearms and had some very good friends at winchester that did a lot of gunsmith & wood work for him from time to time. He loved this gun, but primarily shot 20 ga ammo because of the kind of hunting he did, I'd assume he was a bird hunter. He shot so much 20 ga ammo he started loading all of his 20 ga loads. The person I bought it from thought winchester could have possibly had a hand in the 2nd set of 20 ga barrels
