    Thank you both for the information it is greatly appreciated. The tang does show signs of being lengthened and was done very well. I was wondering if this was done to convert it to a straight stock? The small hole at the end of the tang is threaded, so I was wondering if the trigger guard and or the trigger plate would have been extended to match the top tang?
    Since the receiver is in such rough shape and has been modified, I am thinking of using it for a custom project. While going through my spare parts, I found a set of vent rib barrels that will fit with a bit of work.
