LC Smith Identification help Archived Message

    Hello all,
I am looking for some help positively identifying a LC Smith shogun I purchased years ago having no knowledge of the gun itself. Here are the details I do know.

    1. Serial # 160,1xx w/ "F" underneath
    2. 12 GA
    3. Double hammers
    4. Double triggers
    5. Damascus 32" barrels marked "Hunter Arms"
    6. Ejectors
    7. Checkering on fore grip and stock
    8. Hard rubber butt plate with an image of a Labrador holding a bird in it's mouth

I am really hoping someone can help me determine year of manufacture ( I believe 1908/09) and exact model. The wood is all in amazing condition. The Damascus is clear and unblemished and the bores are both as shiny as a mirror. I can show pics via e-mail and look for any other details of significance. I want to get everything right so I can establish a value for insurance as I am changing homeowners and have to provide current market values of my firearms for a separate rider on the policy. I figured this is my best bet for a positive ID. I have posed the same questions on other hunting forums I participate in and have only received links for this site and auction sites.

Thanks in advance for any information,
    C.J
