Hello all! I am new the world of doubles and have recently acquired two LC Smiths in 12 gauge. First let me be clear that I a not one of those guys who here to find the value of something so I can make a buck. I love the craftsmanship of old guns and am just new to the world of doubles. I just want to know more about what I have.

The gun in question is has 26 inch damascus barrels with ejectors (hammerless). Nothing written on the barrels except the serial number and "OE" which I assume means that it is an "O" grade. What does the "E" mean? The serial number is 3351. According to the serial number tool on this site is says it was produced in 1918. How early were auto ejectors available in Smiths? I was told when I purchased the gun that it was a pre 1900's gun (but I took that with a grain of salt). I do know that serial numbers for these can be complicated as they repeat, but any information anyone can pass along I would greatly appreciate the expertise.
