The British call it Boxing Day, the day after Christmas: December 26th. The etymology of this term is unclear. Some insist it was the day to give special boxed packages to more distant acquaintances not present at the familial Yuletide celebration. It has also been suggested that Boxing Day is the day when children engage in fisticuffs to determine who gets to play with what toy. No matter

A group of sidelock, side-by-side aficionados who fancy the finest Yankee exemplar of this most exalted type of smoothbore, intend to gather for a friendly shoot at Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays (2750 Limestone Street, Coplay, Pennsylvania 18037) circa 9:30am on Friday December 26th. This informal, non-event is a tradition of long standing in the LC Smith fraternity for the Friday between Christmas and New Years. No competition; no trophies; no pressure; no registration. After a convivial round of clays most of us will retire to the nearby, old Ballietsville Inn, also known as Lentinis, for a jolly Dutch treat repast. Join us, if you can!
