I think one of the main points that should be mentioned in this case is that the tight chokes likely in that gun were NOT made for buckshot. If the gun is checked out and in good working order, it can be used for waterfowl, clays, whatever else you can find 2 7/8" loads for antique guns. I am impressed that it apparently survived 4 shots of 27 pellets in a 3 1/2" hull in twist or Damascus barrels. I bet that set you back a step or two! Find something else to use for deer hunting, though.
