Hello Tom Kilgore, My Winchester Model 1912 16 gauge pumpgun is serial number 1029XX, a six digit serial number. It is a NICKEL STEEL gun with a plain 26 inch barrel and a MOD choke. My gun will not eject a modern 16 gauge 2 and 3/4 inch plastic shell when fired in this pumpgun. When the shell is fired and it opens up it is to long to exit the ejection port. You can take a small screw driver or pocket knife and flip the fired shell out. Some of the old old plastic Winchester Super XX 16 gauge shells that are marked 2 and 3/4 inch will fire and will eject from this Win Mdl 1912 16 gauge. I will have to check in some of my Winchester books to see if they tell us when the 16 gauge Model 12 was changed to 2 and 3/4 inches. I have seen many 16 gauge Win Mdl 12s that are clearly marked 2 and 3/4 inches. Some were marked 2 and 3/4 on the bottom of the magazine tube extension and some were marked 2 and 3/4 inches on the barrel. Good Shooting To You, Jent
