Tim, I don't shoot hundreds of rounds out of the guns that I own with a HOT, but have shot enough to tell you that I have not seen anything break in the mechanism itself. NOW, I have seen where someone took it apart and it didn't work after that and in most cases it is the side plate connecting screw (long one) being too tight. Sometimes this can be 1/2 turn too tight. What happens is the sears bind on each other. If the stock was off, it could be the screw that is under the top lever as I described in an earlier reply. It could also be the screw that is behind the safety, the one hidden under the trigger guard. If I were you before sending this gun out, I would try the lock plate connecting screw. It should not be sticking out of the other side, but flush. It should also not have a thread or two showing in the hole. There are very few breakable parts in this trigger, one is the thin spring that goes into the spur lever. This spur lever on the firing of the first shot (either barrel)moves into the hook and prevents the second shot from going off. If all else fails, then Jerry Andrews can help you as stated.
