James, carefully take the wood screw/s out of the trigger guard and lift it out of the fit, swing it away from you if you have the stock on the right. There should be a serial number stamped on the wood.
Either the checking is worn off or it is a new stock and for-end that someone did not get checkered. I have never heard of the factory sending out an unchecked stock and for-end.
