    Actually, there sould be no more danger in shooting 3" shells in the gun than shooting 2 3/4" shells, as both are loaded to the same pressure levels, according to SAAMI specs. High brass, low brass or any other physical identification feature has no bearing on pressure.
    The critical factor is the thickness of the barrel at the area of greatest pressure, in this case the minimum thickness at about 3.5" from the breech.
