    All of us have seen pits from one end of the barrel. This image is from a sectioned 16g barrel with 4 circumferential bulges (the big divots), pits, and linear tool marks likely made by the "gunsmith" who tried to lengthen the forcing cone leaving a wall thickness at the end of the chamber of only .087"
