Let's see if we can figure this out Archived Message

You indicated this was a No. 1. Production of No. 1s ceased in 1913. Serial Number 205267 was recorded in the ledger as a No. 1 12 gauge with 30-inch barrels. This serial number was used a second time. When I run it through the year of manufacture program it shows up as 1945. In the ledger it is a 12 gauge Field Grade with 30-inch barrels. Is it possible that the serial numbers on the frame and the barrels are different? I am wondering if an orphan set of LR barrels was fitted to the No. 1 frame or if the No. 1 frame was returned to Hunter Arms for a new set of barrels in the early 1940s. In the latter case, the serial numbers on the barrels and frame should match.
