    Unfortunately, the Schnabel forend was not recorded in the ledgers. A "B" was recorded to designate all types of beavertail forends. For example, a shotgun recorded as FwEOBV means that it had a feather-weight frame (Fw), automatic ejectors (E), selective Hunter One-Trigger (O, an N designated a non-selective single trigger), beavertail forend (B), and ventilated rib (V).

    Recoil pads were not recorded. I am surprised that the type of stock (straight vs. pistol grip) was not recorded.

    John Houchins tried to estimate when the different forends were made by comparing existing shotguns, dates of manufacture, and catalog descriptions.
