Jeff, for such a light 12 gauge it would be interesting to see how the eliminated some of the weight. On some, if you remove the side plates there were holes drilled in the receiver. Also removing the butt plate, there might be holes drilled in the stock to do the same.
That is typically the weight of a light 16 gauge gun.
