Herb, hard to tell what your barrel length would be. A research letter will tell you what it was sent from the factory.
Also don't believe the "ring like a bell" to be true. Sometimes at the factory the rib/s were not fully soldered the whole length, whether the flux was not there or missed. If you want to check them, get some .001-002 feeler stock and run it along the ribs to see if it goes under the rib. Even if it does, no big deal, just make sure that the rib it is not coming loose.
