Dale, as you are lowering the trigger plate assembly into the stock and receiver housing, the safety should be on SAFE. As you are lowering the assembly, you should be able to watch as the safety link is getting close to the cut-out in the safety and then you will not be able to see anything. If your C clamp rig was over enough, the top lever should go into it's fit in the trigger plate housing. Put the front screw in finger tight, put the top tang screw in finger tight. Reach underneath and put the top tang to trigger plate housing in (your lever should be over to the right when you started this) enough so that the top lever will close. Release the C clamp. Trip the trip and manually bring the top lever over to center, push the safety off and see if it moves, if not you did not catch the cut-out. If it does not return to SAFE, again, you missed the cut-out.
