Auto ejectors are crucial in the field hunting when multiple opportunities are available. At the end of a pheasant drive when the birds go up in staggered groups, follow-on shot opportunities will be lost. Further dove shooting when it gets fast and furious extractors will really slow you down. Lastly all covies of quail do not necessarily flush at once. I have both extractor (francotte & fox) and ejector guns (LC & Browning), but extractor guns have burned me enough that when serious I use an ejector gun. I have over twenty-five years of hunting upland and although I love my 5 1/4 lb francotte, extractors keep it from being a first string gun. My 20 ga LC ejector gun when serous social work is to be done.
