My 1907 12 gauge Grade 2- just had the tip of the right barrel only firing pin break off-left barrel firing pin intact and gun still functions, but now, as a single shot. Numrich arms has a 60 day B.O. on 12 gauge firing pins, I also placed a call to Mr. Rotelli, after reading another member's posting on the bushings. I also went to patent search and the Numrich Arms schematics- Question: Can the older style firing pin be replaced by removing the bushing- held in the receiver face by the brass set screw at top of bushing recess-and having the pin drop forward- they are not rebounding, so there is no coil retaining spring- the Numrich schematic shows a through hole at the rear of the firing pin- not sure if their schematic is for the pre-1913 one like mine, or the later design- I hate to try to remove the side plates- I have Grace gunsmith turnscrews, but this fine shotgun is 101 years old- Not a buggered screw or a single crack at the juncture of the stock jaws at either sideplate, not at the top and bottom tangs- Dr. Drew-what do I do??
