    Hello to everyone here...

I live in southwest Georgia and I have a 16 ga. L C Smith that I would like info and advise for. I am 45 years old and the gun was given to me as my first gun at age 12 to go Dove hunting with. I used the gun until I got my first Remington 1100 at age 16. I was told by my father who gave me the gun that his father gave it to him when he was a child and he thought his father bought it new. Last night I was getting my Deer rifle out of the cabinet to clean it before deer season and saw the old L.C. Smith sitting there and decided I would see what I could find out about it online and tonight I found this site. The serial number on it is FW 53451 which according to this site makes it manufactured in 1923 and my Grandfather was born in 1900 so that would fit my fathers story of his Dad buying it new. I am not a gun collector and know very little about old guns or thier value. I was just wondering what I should do with this gun as far as getting info on it and a low to high value ball park figure. The gun has lots of wear but is still in great working shape and completely original down to the finish on wood and metal as far as I know. My Grandfather lived in the mountians in PA. south of Pitsburg and had 13 sons and dughters and had to hunt for food to feed everyone so I imagine this was a lower cost gun and my father said that he remebered every one in the family using it to hunt with while growing up. It hasnt been shot in about 15 years tho. What would yall recommend for this gun and is there much value in it.. I understand that the grade of the gun dictates a lot but I was hopeing for some sort of estimate. I was also wondering if anyone on here was close to me in southwest Georgia?

    Thanks... Sam..... sam9266@aol.com
